Hermione Granger’s family home is up for sale for £2.4 million

Another home from the Harry Potter movie franchise is on the market. Yes, Hermione Granger’s family home that featured in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 film is for sale for the first time in almost 60 years.

But fans may find the Dursleys’ home at the fictional 4 Private Drive more appealing when they realise they’ll need a whopping £2.4 million to afford this home in Heathgate London. By contrast, the Dursleys’ home, which is actually in Berkshire and went on the market last week, will set you back £475,000.

However, for a 2490 sq ft, three storey, six bedroom, detached period property in the sought-after area of Hampstead Garden, we’d expect nothing less from the Grangers.

For those that need reminding of the part the house played in Harry Potter, it was the point where Hermione altered her parents’ memories to keep them safe from the ‘Death Eaters’.

Sharp-eyed Potter fans will be able to recognise many of the house’s features from the film. It comes with two bathrooms, an entrance hall, reception room, family room, kitchen and breakfast room, a utility room and front and rear gardens – more than enough room to have the whole of the Weasley family to stay.

But potential buyers should be reminded that despite its association with the wizarding world, it does not come with any magical apparatus. It is a muggle house after all.

There is not even an owl in sight in the peaceful cul-de-sac it is situated in. But you may find Hermione’s cat, Crookshanks, a few metres away in the meadows and woodland of the Heath Extension.
